We offer many columns that can be used purely for decorative purposes or for their structural load bearing capabilities. Each has its own charm, form and function.

PermaCast Columns--There are many benefits of a PermaCast column over ordinary wood columns. You can throw your worst at them and they will not rot or dent. We recommend PermaCast Columns for the outdoors however they can also be used indoors as normal columns. Capital Columns currently offers Fiber Cast Columns in an 8”, 10” and even 12” diameter with a smooth finish or Fluted Finish.

FiberGlass Columns are lighter and thinner than PermaCast Columns this means that they only have half the load bearing capacity of a PermaCast. These columns are made from extruded materials and so they are not meant to be split or installed around already existing supports. Both Fluted and smooth styles are available, these come white and are ready for painting once installed.

PVC Column Wraps are a great way to add a decorative touch to an existing wood or steel support. There are many different styles available including Raised Panel, Recessed Panel, Smooth and Fluted. All PVC Column wraps are square, there are no round columns available in PVC. PVC wraps are strictly decorative and offer no weight bearing capabilities. All wraps are installed White and although it is not necessary to paint, you may if you choose to.

Round Wood or Square Wood Columns--Paint grade columns are made from either MDF or finger jointed pine depending on the type of column you order. The round columns are all made from finger jointed pine which can be used both indoor or outdoors. Our Round paint grade columns are load bearing providing you do not cut them vertically. Our standard size Square Columns are made from Finger Jointed Pine unless you require a custom size, at which point we will use MDF. The column parts are all pre primed white.
