The Shaker or Mission Style Wainscoting is a very simple wainscoting made up by using straight planks of wood or MDF to create the Stiles, Upper and Lower Rails. There are no fancy shapes along the edges, inside the panel or on the cap which tops it off. These simple lines is what sets Shaker Wainscoting apart from our other wainscot offerings.
We offer both a manufactured Shaker Wainscoting or we can have a really simple wainscoting made on site using straight flat boards that will be pieced together. Our standard wainscoting comes primed white are ready for painting once installed. Our Custom Wainscoting will require primer due to it being made of Raw MDF. There is an option of having Oak, Maple or Cherry wainscoting installed. The hardwoods would give you the true essence of the shaker/mission style once installed. Like our other wainscoting offerings, the shaker wainscoting lends itself well to a high installation (60″ +). It is quite common for our customers to request a 72″ installation around a Dining Room with a plate rail to top it off.
Much like our other wainscoting offerings, we can customize the Shaker to suit your design needs, whether it’s a thicker upper cap, a taller baseboard or spacing between the stiles. The design possibilities are endless and are not limited by trim size or style. Don’t be afraid of using this style in a contemporary home, it lends itself well to various home decor styles from new subdivisions to high end modern condos.
If you are considering Shaker Wainscoting, take the installation of new Door Casings and Doors into consideration. These changes should be considered because you will not be able to change out the Casings once the wainscoting is installed. Doors should be changed to match the style of wainscoting you are using in order to maintain symmetry throughout the area.
Our Design Consultants will listen to your ideas and discuss the available options with you before proceeding with the installation.
